With the ease and convenience of Genbook Payments, you can manually check out and refund clients from anywhere. Below we'll cover the steps for charging your clients at their appointments, as well as how to refund payments if necessary, from the full Genbook website and our Manager app for iPhone and Android.

Checkout (Website)
1. Click on the appointment in your calendar.Β
2. Click the "Checkout" button at the bottom right.
3. Edit the service cost if this client pays a different amount
4. Add a gift certificate purchase if the client would like
5. Hit "Next" at the bottom right
6. Choose or enter a tip amount, or tap "No tip" on the next screen
7. If the client's payment info is not already on the appointment, you will see a place to enter it on the left side of your screen.
8. Select and/or enter the preferred payment method, double-check the amount, and hit the "Pay" button at the bottom right to charge your client.
It's that easy! π You'll see the transaction history on the right, and the option to print or email your client's invoice on the left.Β

Refunds (Website)
1. Click on the appointment
2. Click "view payment"
3. Click the "Request refund" link next to the payment, under Payment History, on the next screen.
4. Confirm you wish to refund by clicking "Yes".Β
5. You'll now see the refunded payment listed under "Payments History."Β

Checkout (iPhone)
1. Tap on the appointment in your calendar
2. Tap "Checkout" at the bottom
3. Double-check the amount and tap "Next".
4a) WITHOUT a Stripe Card Reader:Β
- Tap "Pay by cash, gift cert, or enter card manually
- Select Credit card, Cash, Gift Certificate as the payment option (note: if a card was already entered at the time of booking, it will appear under credit card).
- Choose/check the tip amount.
- Choose "Make Payment" at the bottom.Β
4b) WITH the Stripe card reader:
- Use the card reader by inserting, tapping, or swiping the client's credit cardΒ
- Remove the card when prompted
Success! π You should see confirmation of your successful payment and the option to send the client an invoice, via the "Share invoice" button at the bottom.Β
When you return to the appointment's detail's screen, you'll see that it figures as "paid" with the amount you charged.Β

Refunds (iPhone)
1. Tap on the appointment in your calendar
2. Tap "view payment" at the bottom
3. Tap "Show" next to Payments history. You'll see all the payment history on the appointment and have the option to request a refund for any payment that was made.Β
4. Tap "Request refund" below the payment details, then tap "Yes" when prompted, to issue the refund. Once the refund is processed, you will see a "Refund completed" message and your client will get an email confirming the refunded payment.Β

Checkout (Android)
1. Tap the appointment in your calendar
2. Tap the "Checkout" button at the bottom
3. Double-check the amount, choose whether to add a gift certificate to the purchase, and hit "Next".
4. Select the payment type, a tip amount (optional) and hit "Make payment" when ready to charge your client.Β
Success! π You should see confirmation of your successful payment and the option to send the client an invoice. When you return to the appointment's detail's screen, you'll see that it figures as "paid" with the amount you charged.Β

Refunds (Android)
1. Tap on the appointment in your calendar
2. Tap "View payment" at the bottom
3. Tap "Show" next to "Payments history"
4. Tap "Request refund"
5. Confirm the refund by tapping Yes. You'll see confirmation that the refund went through. β
6. Tap "Show" to view the refund info, and "X" at the top right to go back to the appointment's details.
